What People Are Saying
We had Fledge for a one day event. He ministered to the whole church Sunday Morning and then ministered to the youth and children Sunday night. Let me tell you: His presentations were like a cool breeze on a summer's day. He helped us focus in on the beauty and greatness of creation. However, he didn't stop there--- he used creation to take us back to its majestic Creator and and the wonderous Gospel message of Jesus Christ. I know that our hearts were touched!

This past weekend I went on a retreat at camp. We had an amazing speaker, named Fledge Fiamingo. You can look him up on SonSafaris.com He is the founder. Fledge has worked at a few different safari locations as the man who drives the truck and takes people on tours, so he knows all about animals. This weekend he talked about the lions and hyenas. They are enemies. Fledge made the comparison that the male lion is God, the lioness is us, and the hyenas are Satan. But he didn’t talk about this: The hyena is kind of cute. Or at least it is to me. But that the thing.. Sin is cute, sin is attractive. But that didn’t exactly tie in to what he talked about. It makes sense though. You want sin because it’s attractive. The lion [you] wants the hyena [sin]. They don’t want it because it’s attractive though, the lion wants to eat it, but anyways. A lioness can easily take on a hyena. Or more than one. But soon the hyenas become more and more, and the lioness tries to fight it but when there comes a certain number of hyenas, the lioness can’t do it anymore. They need help. Luckily for the lioness, a hyena won’t take on a male lion, no matter how many hyenas there are. That’s just like us though. We get involved in sin and we can fight it for a little while, but eventually all of the sin just builds up on us and we can’t do it alone anymore. We need help. We need GOD, the male lion! You can’t do it alone. That’s just something that I got out of the weekend that I really wanted to share.

"Just wanted pass along some information I think the school district would find useful. Fledge Fiamingo came and gave a GREAT presentation to two of our World Geography classes. He is a trained safari guide from South Africa (born in Namibia, he has taken such celebrities as Sam Waterston on photo safaris).
He is very interested in working with our students and Janis Burton and I highly recommend him to the district as a special presenter.
His strengths include: * Extensive first-hand knowledge of Africa - it's wildlife, vegetation, topography and climate, * An ability to plan a presentation at levels appropriate to his audience, * A thoroughly engaging personality that hooks the kids in and encourages interaction.
Fledge uses multi-media of safaris so the students can see the animals in their natural habitat and how they respond to human interaction, and a power point presentation of pictures he has taken of many of the animals and the gorgeous scenery.
Our 90 minute class period flew as the students oohhed, aahhed and peppered Fledge with questions. Several other teachers in the Social Studies Dept. have asked him to return for a presentation to their classes and I believe he is now making arrangements to do so.
It isn't often we have an opportunity to visit with someone from "faraway" lands, so I hope the district will contact him at his address or number noted below, as I know that all of our schools would benefit from a visit."

"Son Safaris is by far one of the most creative ways to spread the word of Jesus Christ I have ever seen. It is absolutely amazing to learn about the ties between life on a safari and scripture. Most people would never think about these ties. Fledge does an incredible job presenting them, and leaves you wanting more. It is something that both adults, and children can enjoy, and I am truly lucky to have heard Fledge's Son Safaris."

"Fledge is a born leader. He has the ability to not only bring a positive 'can do' attitude into a situation, but also a calculating and executing mind to get the job done in a professional way, whilst motivating others to complete the task. I knew Fledge from CCF and when Son Safari was just getting started. It would be easy for me to recommend him as a worker, a director or a speaker for most any event." August 10, 2009

"Listening to one of Fledge's presentations with Son Safari stirs the imagination of anyone listening no matter what age. As Fledge relates his experiences in Sabi Sabi with his Christian walk, it opens so many doors of our spirits and imagination. God is the creator of every one and every thing. He is our guide and like a safari guide we must heed, listen, learn, and use these lessons in our everyday life. Fledge gives us his insights into doing just that."

"One of my favorite quotes by John Wesley, “Set yourself on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.” It seems like so many people in their early twenties have a passion, but somewhere along the lines we get discouraged and settle for something much less. I considered myself doubly blessed whenever I meet someone tenacious enough to hang on to that passion until it comes into full blossom. Encounters with those people are especially encouraging as I confront my own challenges.
And you, Fledge definitely qualify as one of those folks! Go for it with all our support!"

"You've such an amazing, positive influence over me over the course of these short few months that i've had the privilege to have met you. You've been "absolutely fantastic" as you like to put it :). Your presence has definitely made my freshman year and arguably my college experience memorable. =) Thank you."
