where God communicates through His creation

#WGCTHC

All journeys need a rest!

Do you have a busy schedule? Are you constantly on the go?

Picking up kids.

Dropping off kids.

Work deadlines.

Meetings.

Events.

At times we may find ourselves BUSY BUSY BUSY at school, at work, or within our own family. Do you find yourself so BUSY that you find little time to take a break?

Here is an amazing creature who also has keeps quite busy.

The Arctic Tern makes the farthest journey of any bird, approximately 25,000miles (43,000 Km) each year for its annual migration.

Talk about accumulating a few sky miles!

It does enjoy a much needed break in the winter as it molts its wing feathers.

During this process, it may be flightless for a short period of time but the molting allows the great aviator to rest from its expansive journey across the skies.

Have you found that you spend hundreds of hours filling your time in isolation with social media, games, movies, or other entertainment, but you don't know where your Bible is?

Finding things to do for our own recreation is not terrible on its own, but if you find yourself BUSY BUSY BUSY with no time for a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, then perhaps you may need to re-evaluate your choices.

Now may be a good time to take a much needed break from always being BUSY.

Now is a time to rest; to be 'flightless' just like the Arctic Tern.

Jesus had a pretty packed schedule that could have led to his being too busy to seek and pray to His heavenly Father, but He knew that resting in God was essential to maintaining their relationship. He took time to be by Himself and made His Father the priority in his life.

Matthew 14:13&22

As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

...Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home.  After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.

Jesus was BUSY doing good work, but still led by example through his quiet time with his Father. No matter what your situation is or what you have been called to do, please take some time follow Jesus and rest your wings with the LORD today.

Respond in Prayer

To God our Father, Creator of the universe, thank you for taking the time to hear my prayer today. It may have been a while since I have spent time with you. Through all my BUSY days I will take time and spend it with you in Prayer and reading your precious Word. Please put your words in my heart and lead me into your presence every day as I seek to spend time with you each day. Amen.
