About Son Safaris
Jesus is the Son of God. Fledge is a safari ranger.
We combined these two ideas to create: Son Safaris
Fledge was born in Namibia, and lived in South Africa for most of his life. His impressive resume includes Drill Instructor in the South African Defense Force, volunteer crew member for the National Sea Rescue Institute, dive master/skipper for Ocean Divers International, photographic safari ranger in three different countries in Africa and assistant campus minister at Christian Campus Fellowship at the University of Georgia. Fledge has been married to his wife, Julie, since 2003, and they have two sons and two daughters. In his spare time, Fledge enjoys watching TV shows and movies with his wife, playing with the kids, and various outdoor activities such as camping and climbing.

Meet the Board
Mac Hamilton, Chairman
Mac was born and raised in Athens, Georgia so it was only natural for him to go to UGA after high school. A graduate of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, he has spent his career in commercial real estate. Mac and his wife, Catherine, have been blessed with two incredible daughters. As an outdoors enthusiast, he is frequently found hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and golfing, when possible, the entire family enjoys those experiences together.
Mac and his wife Catherine, met Fledge and Julie Fiamingo in 2009 in the setting of a small group from their church. The Hamilton’s and Fiamingo’s began a three year journey in which they shared life's ups and downs in an environment surrounded by fellow followers of Jesus Christ. Mac has had the opportunity to watch Sons Safaris grow, from its very beginning. After Mac and Fledge being together, as brothers in Christ, and after countless discussions about opportunities for networking, exposure, and expansion of Son Safaris, Fledge surprised Mac with an invitation to join the Board of Directors. To this Mac responded "I feel blessed and honored with the opportunity to become a formal activist for, and supporter of, Son Safaris. To bring my love of Christ and the outdoors together, as a way to further expand the world’s exposure to Christ, is an exciting opportunity."

Founder/Director Fledge Fiamingo is a safari ranger who hosted international guests on photographic safaris of African wildlife in Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa. Fledge gave his life to Jesus Christ in 2001. After this life-changing event the more Fledge dove into God's incredible Word the more he realized the parallels of the excitement of being on safari in Africa and having a dynamic relationship with Christ. As a Christian inspirational speaker Fledge combines his vast knowledge of God's incredible creation with His inspired Word to bring a unique perspective to having a relationship with Christ. Since 2003, Fledge has been invited all over the United States to speak in various settings and to a wide range of age groups.
Christ-Centered Creation Care
All over Africa there are many incredible Christian missions doing wonderful projects within the local communities. There are also many wildlife reserves hosting guests on safari. Our vision for our Christ-centered creation care teams to South Africa is not to reinvent either of these great opportunities, but to combine them into one spectacular event for our team members who serve with us.
As a Christ-centered ministry we serve the Lord by obeying His first command, tend and protect His creation (Gen 2:15). We do this by assisting the game reserve with land and wildlife conservation projects. This also opens doors and provides opportunity for us to begin long-term relationships with the reserve staff whereby we can answer questions and begin opening their eyes to the Creator God who loves them. Our teams stay on the wildlife reserve for the duration of their trip. Fledge shares his extensive knowledge of African wildlife with the teams while on safari. The teams will experience and understand God in a whole new realm. Being on safari is where God can communicate through His creation.
We hold these vital beliefs:
The divine inspiration of the Old and New Testaments, which are wholly trustworthy and authoritative in all matters of faith and conduct, and reveal God's plan for all the nations.
One God, externally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Who is unwilling that any should perish, but that all come to repentance.
Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God, God manifest in the flesh, and born of a virgin.
Jesus lived without sin, was crucified for our sins, was bodily raised for our justification, ascended to take His place at the right hand of God, and is coming again in glory. It is in His name that repentance and remission of sins are to be preached to all nations.
The personal, perpetual mission of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and Who indwells believers to enable them to live holy lives, to minister to one another, and to witness concerning Christ.
The alienation and separation of persons from God and their dependence on the grace of God manifested in Jesus Christ; in salvation through the atoning work of Christ received by grace through faith.
The continuance of the Lord's Supper and baptism as taught in the New Testament. The Church as a divine institution, essentially one upon earth as the Body of Christ, to which God has committed the message of reconciliation for all nations.
The necessity of righteousness and benevolence on the part of all Christians, love being a mark of a disciple.
